Gemma is VP Legal & Deputy General Counsel at Skyscanner, the online meta search travel platform based in the UK with global operations. Gemma has held a number of senior roles across tech companies as well as FTSE 100 and Fortune 500s, including being the Chief Privacy Officer at Tesco, the Head of International at Wonga.com - and through her consulting practice, set up and advised Data & Privacy functions at Unilever in the UK and Nordstrom Inc in the USA.

Throughout her 20 year career, Gemma has advised on a wide range of matters globally from advising governments in South Africa and Asia on how to draft their new laws on Data Privacy, to judicially reviewing every council in the UK to advising on constantly evolving tech initiatives across a number of companies.

Gemma also has worked on transformation projects including the design and implementation of Privacy Compliance Programmes as well as designing and implementing Governance, Risk and Compliance initiatives. In her current role she is also responsible for Security (alongside engineers) as well as Data Governance, Risk and Compliance.
