Mary joined LawCare in 2008.

She formerly worked as a corporate lawyer until 2000, when she changed career to work as a Regional Manager for the Law Society. Prior to law, Mary was an inner-city teacher of English, French & Drama in London before becoming a university lecturer in English/ESL.

She moved to the South West of England in 1996 where she lives in a cottage in North Devon. In 2017, she qualified as a BACP Counsellor inspired by her LawCare helpline work. Her particular therapeutic interests include Grief, Vicarious Trauma, and Resilience particularly with regard to coping with life in the law. In her spare time, Mary enjoys walking, writing poetry, playing the piano, being a trustee for Beaford Arts and voluntary counselling for Young Devon. Mary is retained by LawCare as a Training Consultant as she officially retired at the end of 2022.
