In the Future Trends Summit today, Carole Favart from Toyota, spoke on what changes and processes Toyota is using to predict long term trends and how they will remain innovative. It was interesting hearing how Toyota, a global company with 4 major headquarters, retains a true sense of connection and loyalty to Japan.
Japanese philosophy and design is consciously integrated into their innovation processes as they seek to find solutions with the shift from an economic crisis in 2008, to a widely-anticipated ecological crisis in 2030. It is this public thinking, Carole told us, is resulting in new services, system & layers, standards, ownership models, business models and smooth mobility across many sectors, not just car manufacturing.
