LJMU School of Law

"Welcome to the School of Law. We are a leading law school, proud to deliver cutting-edge programmes with fantastic employability outcomes. 99% of our graduates are in work or further study six months after completing our LLB Law degree*.

We are also proud of our innovative research, pro bono activities and excellent links with the legal community and Liverpool City Region.

A respected and distinguished school...

We have a rich and innovative research culture and a varied portfolio of quality work within law, which includes our Centre for the Study of Law in Theory and Practice. The Centre provides leadership, direction, coherence and focus to research activities in law and enables diverse views within a community of peers.

Our nationally commended Legal Advice Centre was shortlisted for two LawWorks and Attorney General Student Pro Bono Awards in 2015, won the Law School Challenge in 2019 and was nominated in the same year for the Access to Justice Foundation award. In the Legal Advice Centre, our students are supervised by experienced staff with practising certificates and by volunteer solicitors from the best law firms from the region. The Centre advises members of the public on cases involving family law, civil litigation, wills and administration, employment law and it is currently piloting new clinics focusing on environmental law and alleged miscarriages of justice.

“If you’re interested in studying law, you’ll find everything you need here to help you achieve your goals.”
