Course Overview
The course focuses on corporate loan documentation drawn up under common law systems – in particular English law and New York law – which dominate the international syndicated loan market. Third day of the focuses on a case study, and a treatment of security, insolvency and loan workout for distressed loans.

As a Lawyer: After graduating in law from Trinity College, Cambridge, he studied at the Inns of Court Law School, whereafter he became a Barrister- at- Law.
As a Corporate Lender: Richard’s six years at Chase Manhattan Bank as a corporate relationship manager gave him experience from the lender’s perspective.
As a Corporate Financier: He spent five years in M&A advisory and corporate restructurings at two investment banks, gaining experience of structured finance and workout documentation.
As a Finance Director: His six years as CFO of a large public company gave him valuable experience from the perspective of a corporate borrower.
As a Workout Specialist: Richard was appointed by KMPG and spent 18 months as General Manager of a company in severe financial difficulties. This provided experience of insolvency in several different jurisdictions.
