With a multi-industry global career, Ali Syed is an accomplished executive with expertise across oil and gas E&P, upstream operations, drilling services, energy, technology, engineering, manufacturing, investments, portfolio, country, and company management. He has worked across USA, Europe, SE Asia and extensively across MENA.

He is currently working for a US based independent exploration and production (IOC), Viceroy Petroleum LP as the Vice President of Strategy, New Ventures, and Operations overseeing the business corporate strategy, operations, investment partnerships and organizational development. He serves as an Executive Advisor for London based Balmoral Global Capital LTD, a management consultancy catering to businesses in sourcing investment capital.

Previously, he has worked in private and public companies within the technology and O&G industries including Teradyne, Halliburton. With Halliburton, he oversaw the business development and operations for clientele such as ADNOC Abu Dhabi and later Iraq in as a Country Manager, oversaw major global E&Ps and state-owned NOCs upstream operations. Across his career, Ali has worked or advised extensively government/state owned E&P companies, agencies, ministries, public and private companies in operations or investments.

He graduated from Purdue University (West Lafayette, Indiana) in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE). He also completed a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Boston University (Boston, Massachusetts) in 2009.
