Profile

Anna Kaparaki is a dual-qualified Senior Solicitor at Mackinnons Solicitors LLP and Lecturer in Maritime Law at Liverpool John Moores University. With legal credentials in both Greece and Scotland, she brings over two decades of cross-border legal experience, specialising in marine insurance claims and charterparty disputes.

Currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA), Anna’s research focuses on the regulatory and contractual challenges of maritime decarbonisation. Her expertise includes the just transition to alternative fuels, digitalisation in the maritime sector and the evolving legal framework around Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS). She is a published co- author in the field of blockchain applications in maritime dispute resolution.

Anna holds an MSc in Maritime Operations Management (First-Class Honors) and an LLM in Private International Law. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and holds the SEDA Accreditation in academic practice.

Fluent in two languages, she is actively involved in several international maritime and legal organisations. Named among the Top 100 Women in Shipping every year since 2019, Anna is recognised for her academic leadership, forward-looking research and practical legal expertise, positioning her as a leading voice in the global maritime legal community.
