Abe Bergman is co-founder and president of Eastern Union, a New York-based, national commercial real estate firm that provides both financing services and capital markets advisory services. It employs more than 90 real estate professionals and closes billions of dollars’ worth of transactions annually. In 2024, Eastern Union secured commercial mortgage financing from 121 lenders nationwide.
Abe’s first year in the industry was spent building new divisions at a different firm, prior to co-founding Eastern Union in 2001. Together with Ira Zlotowitz, he started Eastern Union with four people, working out of a rented Brooklyn office belonging to a friend’s father. Eastern Union today churns out quality business at a rate outpacing the entire industry
He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Touro College and a master’s degree in general business administration from Baruch College.
Abe is entrenched in various philanthropic organizations both on a national level and also locally in the Flatbush, Brooklyn neighborhood where he resides. He is also proud that his family is deeply involved in a charitable organization that assists families experiencing medical issues.
