As President and COO, Edward M. Kobel leads DeBartolo Development's investment strategy, execution, and capitalization. Backed by the DeBartolo family and major capital commitments, DeBartolo Development has acquired a real estate pipeline of over $4.6 Billion since 2003 and has developed over $5 Billion of "ground-up" development.
Throughout his professional career, Mr. Kobel has been a champion of charitable causes, devoting his time, resources, and leadership to multiple non-profit organizations. He has served on the board of Directors of the University of Tampa. He was awarded the Outstanding Professional and Community Citizenship award by Tampa Mayor Pam Lorio. As a follower of Christ, Ed has a passion for faith-based leadership development and has served as Chairman of Lifework Leadership, a leadership development program that provides ethical training for business and community leaders. He also serves on the board of Directors of Faith Tampa Bay, an organization working to meet the transformational needs of the Tampa Bay area.
Ed has an amazing story that is grounded in his faith and hearing from God through his abiding relationship with Christ. This has become the focus of his ministry, to share with other believers, especially business leaders, the power of abiding and hearing from God as we navigate life and business. Ed hosts hundreds of business leaders a year to his Plantation in South Georgia for his abiding experiential workshop. He shares practical life experiences that impress and encourage believers to pursue Christ in a daily abiding relationship.
