Mr. Torres has over 40 years of expertise in executing complicated construction and development projects. He has completed over 3.5 million square feet of ground-up, high-rise construction in South Florida. His project list includes residential buildings, hotels, retail, and office buildings.

His unique experience involving high-rise construction, insurance claim restoration, surety bonding, and representing institutional investors and developers, highlights his ability to mitigate risk. His completion as general contractor of the 500,000 gsf Oasis Pointe Residences within 14 months of groundbreaking, in the midst of the COVID Pandemic and global supply chain disruptions, further underscores his success at risk mitigation.

Mr. Torres’ business model provides the execution of ‘best in class' real estate with an emphasis on risk mitigation, building performance innovation, and aligning the interests of project stakeholders.

Mr. Torres has served as an expert witness, litigation consultant, builder, and developer. He has also lectured at the University of Miami Law School and the Harvard Graduate School of Design. In 2019, Mr. Torres’s expert testimony played a critical role in obtaining a $3.6 million verdict against a national insurance carrier for a hurricane claim in favor of a Miami condominium association.

Mr. Torres was born in New York City to Puerto Rican immigrants. Surrounded by NewYork City’s skyline and diverse architecture, Mr. Torres sought a career in construction. After graduating high school, Mr. Torres began his construction management career in NYC vocational union shops working in various trades. In 1992, the unions tapped Mr. Torres to go to Miami and to begin the reconstruction work left by the devastation of Hurricane Andrew. By 1999, Mr. Torres completed hundreds of major restoration projects on behalf of major insurance carriers such as Travelers, Bankers, Metropolitan, and other New York City carriers. In the decade that followed, Mr. Torres managed the construction of institutional developers and owners in the development and renaissance of Miami’s downtown.

Mr. Torres is a Harvard Graduate School of Design alumni, having graduated with honors from the Advanced Management Development Program in Real Estate. Mr.Torres is also a licensed general contractor, real estate appraiser, and is a property and casualty agent in the State of Florida. Hector also volunteers and is certified as a Guardian Ad Litem appointed by the Supreme Court of Florida.
