Timothy A. Peterson joined Altman Living in 2003 as a Partner and has served in a variety of roles since that time. Currently, he is Chief Strategy Officer responsible for the strategic growth initiatives of the firm as well as overseeing the asset management and disposition functions,

Tim has over 35 years of real estate experience and over 30 years of multifamily experience. Previously, he was the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of a real estate investment trust (REIT) that developed, acquired, managed and leased industrial and office properties in the Eastern United States. Prior to that, he was the Executive Vice President of Post Properties. Inc., where he had overall responsibility in the financial area including managing the company's IPO.

Tim served on the board of directors and chaired the audit committee for Preferred Apartment Communities (NYSE:APTS) from the company’s IPO in 2011 through the sale to Blackstone in 2022. He is a past member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts where he served as a Co-Chairman of its Accounting Committee, and a member of the Best Financial Practices Task Force. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the University of Florida Real Estate Advisory Board and the advisory board of the ULI South Florida/Caribbean chapter as well as a member of ULl's Bronze Multifamily Council. Over his career, Tim has overseen more than $10 billion in real estate development, financing, acquisition and disposition in public and private markets with institutional, family office and high net worth individuals

Tim, a native of St. Petersburg, Florida, received his undergraduate degree in Accounting and his MBA in finance from the University of Florida. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
