Derek is a seasoned real estate entrepreneur with a strong background in real estate development, planning, project organization and commercial and residential construction management. Derek’s professional standings include a CPA CA designation and his strengths in finance, corporate governance and due diligence round out his ability to bring innovative development concepts to life and the financial acumen to make them a reality. As a Partner with Huntington Property Group Ottawa, a full-service asset management and development company, Derek skillfully manages strong project teams, engaging investors, lenders, urban planners, design professionals and contractors to deliver successful projects to completion. In addition to his primary role at Huntington, Derek is Chief Development Officer with Stonemont Retirement Lifestyle, a sister company, which focuses on the development and operation of retirement lifestyle apartments and facilities in Ontario and Nova Scotia. Among his community work, Derek sits on the National Capital BGC Board of Directors.
