Hendrik is a Policy Analyst at the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC), working at the Competence Centre on Behavioural Insights since 2020. He leads the JRC project developing a technical proposal for EU-harmonized waste sorting labels on behalf of the Directorate-General for the Environment, as part of the provisionally agreed Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation. His broader work also focuses on addressing food waste and tackling misinformation and disinformation. He holds a PhD in Socioeconomics from the University of Hamburg and was a fellow of the International Max-Planck Research School on Earth System Modelling.
