João heads the Waste Management Department at SPV since 2005. SPV is the leading packaging recovery organization in Portugal with a market share over 80%. His department ensures the closing of the cycle for packaging waste of municipal origin in Portugal, guaranteeing the recycling of over 400.000 t of packaging waste in 2023, as well as leading the Waste Prevention and Ecodesign initiatives for packaging waste at SPV, serving the packaging value chain.

João has over 25 years of work experience in environmental or sustainability related matters.
