Policy Officer - Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive at European Commission

Maja [Desgrées du Loû] is a Commission’s official who had a pivotal role in the process of defining, drafting, and adopting the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation. She is the most senior policy officer in the packaging policy team of DG ENV and has been involved with this file since 2018.

Maja has been working for the European Commission since 2002 and has a vast working experience. She started her career in the prestigious Commission’s Legal Service, then switched to the Commission’s Permanent Representation in Slovenia, turned back to more legal work on environmental enforcement and infringements, where she stayed for 10 years, before moving to her current policy job on packaging.
