Oscar Gómez leads the team Circular Economy and Waste Statistics in Eurostat. He has a background on multidisciplinary environmental and marine science, has worked for 10 years at the Spanish agricultural and environmental administration and o the private sector, and works since 2008 for the European institutions, and since 2013 for Eurostat. His team is responsible for the publication and maintenance of the Circular Economy Monitoring Framework, for the production of waste statistics and validation of reporting obligations on different waste streams, and for the verification of the source of EU revenue based on the non-recycled plastic packaging waste.
