Matthew Howatt is an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He handles a variety of civil affirmative, defensive, and bankruptcy litigation and investigation matters, with a particular emphasis on healthcare fraud cases. For his work, AUSA Howatt has received several awards from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Department of Justice. Previously, AUSA Howatt served in the Office of General Counsel of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and before that he was in private practice at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP in New York. He holds an LL.M. from Penn, a J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School of York University in Toronto, and a B.A. from McGill.
