Dan McNamara is Vice President of Patient Services at Kyowa Kirin, where he leads the design and delivery of patient support strategies that enhance the experience of patients and caregivers throughout their treatment journeys.

McNamara is an accomplished biotech and rare disease leader with more than 25 years of experience, including over 15 years dedicated to rare disease. Throughout his career, he has led the launch and commercialization of multiple specialty and rare disease therapies, with a consistent focus on building best-in-class patient support organizations.

McNamara joined Kyowa Kirin in January 2024 after serving as Executive Vice President of Commercial and Patient Strategy at Ambit. He previously held senior leadership roles at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, Shire (now part of Takeda), and Homology Medicines. Earlier in his career, he held roles at Elan Pharmaceuticals, Biogen, and Bristol Myers Squibb, where he supported multiple biologic launches for specialty conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, MS, and cervical dystonia into patient services and rare disease.

McNamara is known for his strong focus on improving the patient and caregiver experience while empowering high-performing, mission-driven teams. He received his BA from University of Albany and received his MBA in Management at St. John’s University.
