Before joining Vertex, he was an Assistant United States Attorney in both the civil and criminal divisions in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Boston. As a civil AUSA, Evan was responsible for recovering more than $700 million through enforcement of the False Claims Act. As a criminal AUSA, he prosecuted a wide variety of matters, including health care and government procurement fraud. Prior to that, he was a partner at McDermott Will & Emery. Earlier in his career, he clerked for Hon. Denise Casper in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Evan graduated magna cum laude from the Boston University School of Law and studied political science and classics at Brown University.
