Cheryl Wood has been working as a registered nurse for 30 years, 25 of those providing patient care and education. Cheryl joined the VMS team in August of 2021. In her role as Clinical Nurse Educator at VMS, she has been able to integrate all her past experiences to provide holistic support and customized education to meet each patient’s individual needs. Cheryl leans on her background in coaching to connect and engage empathetically with every patient she encounters. She strives to honor each person’s unique journey and hopes after each interaction the patient feels more positive and hopeful.

Cheryl has worked with a diverse population, meeting a wide variety of educational needs. She worked as an RN and nurse educator in women’s services and also as a patient case manager and legal nurse consultant. Following that, she enjoyed a very rewarding role as a mental health coach for 5 years leading up to her time with VMS. Cheryl graduated from the Baptist Medical System School of Registered Nursing.
