Rowena Borenstein joined Astellas Pharma Canada (then Fujisawa Canada) in February, 2004, as its first Canadian corporate counsel. Throughout the next decade, she assumed additional responsibility on her way to General Counsel, Canada, including the launch of Astellas Pharma Canada’s first compliance program. Since 2019, Rowena has taken on global responsibilities, and is currently the Commercial Legal Lead for the Established Markets, leading a team of lawyers located in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, UK, Canada, Hungary and Denmark. The Commercial Legal team focuses on providing critical counsel and legal direction on every aspect of their respective markets and serves as strategic business partners to their clients, delivering innovative and solutions-oriented advice in order to meet the needs of patients around the world.
