Kate Davidson is the manager of data science for the Colorado Division of Insurance. She is responsible for developing and implementing the Division’s data strategy and infrastructure, conducting major analyses across Division programs, and assists in assessing and implementing new legislation. Kate has focused on analyses in the implementation of the Colorado Option, including hospital rate setting and premium rate reductions as well as for the Prescription Drug Affordability Board (PDAB) in defining eligible drugs and providing supporting data for the Board to select drugs for an affordability review, assess whether a prescription drug is unaffordable in Colorado, and determine an upper payment limit. Previously, Kate held analytical roles with the Pediatric Care Network at Children’s Hospital Colorado and the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Finance, she holds a Master’s Degree in International Administration and Global Health from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at DU.
