Patricia MacTaggart has been a public servant for most of her career, serving at the county, state and federal levels in transforming health care policy, delivery and administration. She is the Director of the MPH@GWU-Health Informatics Concentration and MHA-Health Informatics Area of Focus and Teaching Instructor at the Milken School of Public Health, George Washington University. She previously was a Program Manager in the Health Care Reliability and Value division within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), focusing on the effectiveness and business value of VHA major investments. Ms. MacTaggart, who also spent 3 years at ASTP/ONC and was Medicaid Director at Minnesota, specializes in the transformation of Medicaid, Medicare, VHA and private health care delivery and administration and payment reform through the use of health information technology and data. Ms. MacTaggart is an Advisor to CBO and provides consultation to various government and private enterprises. A member of MGMA, Academy Health, ACHE, AUPHA, and HIMSS- where she was recognized globally as a “2024 HIMSS Changemaker” and is on the national public policy committee, she is actively engaged with health IT policy development, operations and oversight to support a digital health care environment.
