Ernie Chesculescu

Senior Director at Barings

Ernie is Head of European Private Placement origination for Barings based in London. He is responsible for the origination and underwriting of transactions in Europe as well as credit and relationship management. Ernie joined Barings in 2022 having worked in investment banking at NatWest and Santander for over a decade helping issuers raise financing in the private markets globally. Prior to this Ernie spent six years at MetLife originating and underwriting private placement deals across Europe. Ernie started his career at Deloitte working up to managing audits for financial clients.

Ernie is a Chartered Accountant, a CFA Charterholder and holds and M.A. from the University of Oxford.
