Head of Portfolio Management, Global – Private Credit at Legal & General Investment Management

Stuart heads up Portfolio Management for Private Credit on a global basis and is responsible for overall management of the fund management function (portfolio in excess of £20bn AuM). He oversees and guides portfolio construction to optimise portfolio performance and provides independent credit judgement on the underwriting of all new financings across Corporate, Alternative, Infrastructure and Real Estate debt asset classes.

Prior to joining LGIM in January 2018, Stuart was Managing Director and Head of International Origination at New York Life Investors, and before that Director at RBS (Private Placements, Debt Capital Markets), working both in the UK and US.

Stuart has a PhD and BA (hons, first) from the University of Southampton. He also holds an MSt from the University of Oxford, FCT from the Association of Corporate of Treasurers, and Executive MBA (Distinction, Directors’ Award) from the University of Cambridge’s Judge Business School. Stuart is a finance committee member at a UK university.
