Jean Martel, Eng., was appointed to the Board of Directors and as President and CEO of the Société d’habitation du Québec (SHQ) on September 23, 2024.A member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, he holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering and construction management from the École de technologie supérieure.Mr. Martel has carried out several large-scale projects throughout Quebec. He notably held the position of Director of Project Management for the Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM), in addition to several other achievements. He has also held the position of Vice-President Construction for several major real estate developers in Quebec, including Cogir Immobilier.His work has earned him recognition from his peers in project management, real estate management, human resources management and change management. Mr. Martel contributes to the mission of the SHQ through his extensive knowledge of the context and issues related to social housing, community organizations, social services and vulnerable persons.
