Jonny is a radiation specialist with experience across defence, healthcare and submarine operations. After completing an MRes in Biophysics, he joined Dstl’s graduate scheme, developing expertise in radiation protection, emergency response and medical physics. He subsequently became a Health Physicist while completing an MSc in Medical Physics at the University of Surrey. Alongside his technical career, he commissioned into the Royal Naval Reserve before transferring to the Regular Royal Navy. Serving on HMS Northumberland before qualifying as a submariner onboard an SSBN patrol. Since then, he has held roles in training, submarine support, nuclear emergency response, and policy. He now serves as the Royal Navy’s Radiation Policy Officer (RADPOL SO2).
