Tom gained his degree in Geology and worked for 3 years as a drainage surveyor gaining an interest in Geospatial data. He completed his Masters in Geographical Information Science (GIS) and starting working for Research Sites Restoration Limited, Magnox, now Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS) as GIS/IMAGES Technical Support primarily at the Harwell site in Oxfordshire. For over 12 years he has supported the Site Restoration programme in data management activities with an aim to delicence and release the land for redevelopment as a Science/Technology campus. He is experienced in handling radiological surveying and sampling data, mapping, authoring technical specifications and reviewing reports by Contractors who carry out surveying and sampling works.
