Mark Kenney joined Canadian Apartment Properties REIT (CAPREIT), a TSX listed company, in 1998. With over 30 years of experience in the multi-family sector and as President and Chief Executive Officer, Mark is actively involved in creating and implementing the strategic vision for the organization through the direction of company policy and oversight of the crucial divisions within CAPREIT, including property management operations, marketing, procurement, development and acquisitions. A frequent contributor to BNN Bloomberg and other media, Mark is a passionate advocate for the role real estate investment trusts (REITs) can play within the multi-family residential sector, working with government and non-governmental organizations to affect change and build supply so that all Canadians can have a safe and secure home. Mark is currently the Co-Chair of the REALPAC Apartment Owners Committee. He has held prior positions as director and as Chair of the Federation of Rental Providers of Ontario from 2009 to 2017, as well as the director of the Greater Toronto Apartment Association from 1998 to 2009. Mark is also a former non-executive director of Irish Residential Properties REIT plc (“IRES”). Mark Kenney maintains active membership in the Halifax, Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver Apartment Associations, and holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from Carleton University.
