Dr Holmberg is a Functional Lead, Senior Analyst, and Independent Researcher. He is employed by Swedbank, where he focuses on understanding how changes in the overall economic landscape influence the financial environment. Among his responsibilities, he leads the design of the annual macroeconomic ICAAP scenarios and has recently developed methods for incorporating both ESG and macroeconomic risks in a structured way into such scenarios and simulations. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics and has conducted research in areas including the determinants of credit crunches, economic imbalances, portfolio management, the short-term economic impacts of climate change, and methods for assessing the likelihood of macroeconomic events. He also has a solid background in central banking, having served as a member of multiple international expert groups and provided technical assistance to several foreign central banks through Sweden’s foreign aid programme.
