Dr. Jochem Vink is the Development Lead of the RNA Platform NZ and a Senior Research Fellow at the Ferrier Research Institute in Wellington. He holds a PhD from TU Delft, where he specialised in CRISPR/Cas systems and his postdoctoral work focused on molecular biology of plant diseases. His current work focuses on advancing RNA technologies and translating them into practical tools for researchers and industry, coordinating multi-institution programmes. He is driven by the development of innovative RNA-based solutions for improving human, animal, and plant health across Aotearoa New Zealand, with an emphasis on real-world application and cross-sector impact.
