Profile
Dr Rebecca McKenzie is project and team lead of the NZ RNA platform production facility at the Malaghan Institute of Medical Research. Trained as a molecular biologist at the University of Otago, she completed her PhD at Delft University of Technology's Department of Bionanoscience, developing imaging and molecular tools to characterise CRISPR-Cas bacterial immune systems. She then returned to Aotearoa as a postdoctoral researcher with the Vaccine Alliance Aotearoa New Zealand, contributing to COVID-19 vaccine research. Rebecca now leads RNA/LNP production for researchers nationally and internationally, driving the platform's growth and advancing RNA technologies across human health and agriculture.
