Clemens is a Senior Director Commercial Development in the mRNA Business Unit of Lonza. In his current role, Clemens is driving forward growth projects in the area of the mRNA modality. Together with a team of Experts in Lonza, he is developing an mRNA manufacturing platform to enable an agile response to unmet medical needs.

Clemens completed the Pharmacy Degree program at the University of Heidelberg and is a licensed pharmacist in Switzerland. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Microbiology from the University of Freiburg and an M.B.A. degree from the State University New York. Clemens thrives on making innovative projects real and leading diverse, cross-functional teams. During his tenure at Novartis (2005-2018), he launched an eye-sight saving treatment in Europe. In Lonza, he championed major expansion projects since joining Lonza in February 2018. In his free time, he plays Saxophone and has contributed to several recordings of traditional and recent Swiss Children Songs.
