Professor Craig Martin is a world-renowned leader in T7 RNA polymerase, having published on almost all aspects of the enzyme/process, over more than three decades. At the University of Massachusetts Amherst, he is in the Chemistry Department and the Program in Molecular & Cellular Biology, and he is Nucleic Acids Theme Leader in the Institute for Applied Life Sciences. He is also co-founder and CEO of a spin out company, Waterfall Scientific, which is commercializing the innovations from his lab. The technologies are all informed by a deep understanding of the system.
