Borja Rey is a naval architect at Ardentia since 2021, where he is involved in salvage operations, contributing operational plans, calculations, and technical drawings for emergency response and wreck removals. He is also partly responsible for the maintenance of Ardentia's fleet. As a naval architect, he supports Ardentia's operations at terminals and in anti-pollution manoeuvres.

Previously, he worked as a naval architect at SMIT Salvage from 2015 to 2020 where he joined the salvage team onsite during the salvage projects around the world.

From 2012 to 2015, Borja worked at HMC (Hydrographic Marine Consultants) as naval architect creating Stability booklets, towing plans, and heavy lift operations.
