Ajaz joined Gard (UK) Limited in 2001 from a seagoing career of 18 years. He is a qualified Master Mariner with considerable experience on tankers, bulk carriers and large containerships. He also holds a Masters degree (LLM) in Maritime Law. Ajaz is Head of Claims at Gard (UK) Limited with emphasis on casualty work. Prior to joining Gard, he worked for A.P.Møller (Maersk) where he served across all ranks; including as Master for four years, and as Owners Superintendent for A.P Møller takeover projects and new build takeovers from Hyundai. Ajaz is Gard’s representative on the International Group Pilotage & Maritime Security sub-committee.
