Gary is a qualified Master Mariner with 16 years of seagoing experience including command experience on tankers and gas carriers before moving ashore with Shell Shipping Technology in 1998 as a senior marine facilities advisor. Prior to joining Sanmar Shipyards as Sales Director for the Middle East and Africa in June 2013 he held a variety of senior management appointments spanning the full scope of operational, technical and commercial roles in midstream shipping and marine services with London Offshore Consultants (LOC), Lamnalco Group and P&O Maritime.

His role at LOC included casualty response, salvage and expert witness testimony including representing the owners during the wreck removal of the TRICOLOR, at the time the largest project of its kind ever executed in maritime history.
