Mike Besijn’s career evolved around shipping, shipbuilding and floating crane structures. After starting on deep sea going tugs, going through the ranks later in his sailing career for about 10 years at sea, Mike received the title of mechanical engineer in 1998. Since then sales responsibility on heavy floating maritime equipment started. Mike’s passion in shipping are in tugs and workboats, which coincides with the responsibilities for Damen Shipyards in its various markets. In his career Mike sold tugs, both old and modern, and the cargo carrying, landing craft vessels with cranes all over the world with the emphasis now on the United kingdom.
