Nina M. Hanevold-Sandvik is Vice President, Casualty and Major Claims at Skuld’s head office in Oslo. As part of the specialist Casualty and Major Claims team she supports the Association’s 11 offices spread across 3 continents in the handling of casualties and large claims, with a primary focus in dealing with emergency response incidents for both P&I and H&M risks entered with Skuld. During the past year Nina has led the Skuld team involved in the removal of a wrecked rig off Malaysia. She also actively contributes to Skuld’s sustainability work.
Nina is a qualified Norwegian lawyer and prior to joining Skuld in 2021 she worked for 12 years in private practice for a Norwegian international law firm. She has particular expertise in maritime, marine insurance and environmental law and has experience both as an emergency response lawyer and as a litigator. Nina is the president of the Norwegian Maritime Law Association (CMI) and regularly acts as an external examiner at the University of Oslo.
