Ahmed Albabtain started his career with Vela International Marine Ltd. back in 1991 as the first Saudi marine engineer to work on large ocean going tankers. Leaving Vela at 2011 after raising through the ranks to Marine Superintendent to start a career in the private sector managing oshore vessels and marine support services. Ahmed has been heavily involved in maritime legislation development nationally and regionally as well as internationally attending many IMO meetings. Ahmed is registered in IMO's E Roster of experts in five sectors including Marine Policy, Port Operations, Environmental Impact Assessment.
