Michael Frevola focuses on charter party and bunker disputes, maritime attachments and vessel arrests, lien priority and maritime bankruptcy disputes, and collision litigation. He has represented parties in over 100 Rule B attachment proceedings and has been the prevailing lawyer in many of the most-cited U.S. maritime attachment decisions. He represented the winning parties in the two largest arbitrations in New York maritime arbitration history, including one in which he obtained the largest-ever pre-arbitration security award for approximately $63 million. Mr. Frevola teaches Admiralty Law at Hofstra University and is the chairman of the Subcommittee for Maritime Liens and Ship Mortgages of the US Maritime Law Association.
