Speaking up and out, and finding your brave: Find Your Voice Showcase 2022

Women make up half of the world population and control over a third of total household wealth. Yet, female representation within the wealth and investment industry lags behind the rest of the financial services. While female employees account for more than 40% of all employees on average, only 18% of portfolio managers and 11,8% of fund managers are female.

However, this year has seen an increase in female representation within the investment management industry. In 2020 and 2021, Morningstar found that there were more fund managers named Dave than female fund managers, where as, 2022 is the first year that female fund managers have outnumbered Dave's within the industry.

These numbers alone highlight just how important it is that more focus is put on diversity and inclusion within firms. It is vital for the industry's success to ensure women are given a platform for their voices to be heard.

This was the aim of the Find Your Voice showcase at IMpower Incorporating FundForum this year.

5 young leaders were given the opportunity to work with Alison Campbell, a public speaking training expert, to prepare for a two-minute presentation on their chosen topic - which they presented on stage, in Monaco, at IMpower Incorporating FundForum.
