Heloise SmithHead: Consumer Sector East Africa at Stanbic Bank / Standard Bank
Heloise has more than 20 years’ experience in financial services, and has been working on the African continent in various capacities in the public and private sector since the early 1990s. She has been a senior executive in the Bank, since she re-joined the institution in 2012, firstly in the Investment Banking team and currently in the Africa Coverage Team, where she is crafting and driving the Bank’s strategy in the Consumer Sector in East Africa. She has travelled extensively in Africa, both for business and pleasure, and has been to 37 countries on the continent with an ambition to visit all 54. She has a good knowledge and understanding of the capital markets in most of the larger economies on the continent, such as Kenya, South Africa and Nigeria, as well as several smaller markets, including Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia.
