Ahmed Hamdani is Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Zetland Capital. Ahmed has over 25 years of experience and a 20+ year track-record of distressed and special situations investing, across public and private markets. Since founding Zetland in 2016, the firm has grown to over 1.1Bn in AUM and focuses on European mid-market opportunities, with over 45 investments to date.
Before founding Zetland, Ahmed served four years as Managing Director and Head of Non-Corporate Distressed at HIG Capital, a multi-billion, mid-market Private Equity firm. He grew the team and established the business across Europe. Prior to this, he spent 8 years as Portfolio Manager and Head of European Distressed Debt at Trafalgar Asset Managers, a multi-billion European credit hedge fund.
Early in his career, Ahmed worked in investment banking for Credit Suisse, London and in Fixed Income Research for Salomon Brothers, New York. He received an M.B.A. from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a BA from Vassar College.
