Diego is a general partner at Acurio Ventures, where he has been a part of the team since the firm's inception in early 2018. His main responsibilities include leading Acurio's fund investment strategy, across both secondaries and primaries, as well as fundraising and investor relations. Before Acurio, Diego spent several years on the operational side working for startups in Germany and Spain in business development roles. Previously, he developed his career in the legal sector in renowned firms such as Freshfields - where he was a lawyer focused on private equity, M&A, and financing - and Linklaters - where he was director of business development and marketing in Spain and the United States. He has law and business degrees from the University of Deusto in Spain and an MBA from NYU Stern.
