Florent Robineau is a seasoned investment professional with over 20 years of experience in fund management, credit strategy, and investment research across global financial markets. He currently serves as a Senior Advisor at Star Mountain Capital, a ~$4 billion AUM (committed capital including debt facilities as of 8/31/24) U.S. lower middle-market private credit specialist focused on value-added direct lending and credit secondaries, where he leverages his extensive expertise in credit markets and investment strategy to provide guidance on strategic growth and investment opportunities for the firm.
Previously, Florent was Head of Industrials Credit Research and Senior Vice President for Fixed Income at GIC Private, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund. At GIC he spent nearly seven years focusing on a dedicated Credit Opportunities strategy and managing a cross-cultural team across London, Singapore, and New York. He has a strong track record investing in credits through bonds, loans, and private debt as well as making fund co-investments for GIC.
His career also includes roles such as Sector Portfolio Manager at Pioneer Investments (now Amundi), as part of a €60 billion Global Aggregate Fund, and key positions at Red Cliffs Capital Partners and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, specializing in high-yield investments and special situations. Florent started his career in finance at BNP Paribas.
In addition to his investment career, Florent serves as a non-executive director for Coast 4C, a company focused on marine preservation, where he supports sustainable initiatives through governance and strategic oversight.
Florent holds an Executive MBA from INSEAD and Tsinghua University, and a certificate in Venture Capital Investing from The Wharton School. He also holds a Masters in Finance from Paris-Panthéon-Assas University.
