Thierry Chignon is a Managing Partner at Mérieux Equity Partners, a unique Healthcare-dedicated investor with established industrial roots and an international reach across buyout and venture strategies. Thierry launched the firm’s Buyout activities in 2014, and is also responsible for Investor Relations and Communications. Before this he was partner of Matignon Investissement et Gestion (2006-2014), raising and deploying the first largest European fund dedicated to medical technologies (Matignon Technologies II, 100M$) with several positive exits including trade sales and IPOs.

Prior to joining the Private Equity industry, Thierry began his career in Healthcare as Head Pharmacist within Institut Mérieux (1988-1997, now Sanofi Pasteur). He also worked for 5 years as an Expert of the Commission of the European Union preparing Guidelines and Regulations for medical devices and

was a Director with Quintiles Consulting Europe, now IQVIA (1997-2006) where he defined and participated to the implementation of business development strategies for innovative products in Europe.

Thierry holds a Pharmacy Degree, PharmD, a Master Degree from IEP Paris (Sciences Politiques Paris) and an Executive MBA from HEC Paris.
