Luis Pelaez is a Managing Director and Head of Internal Sales and Service at Nuveen, where he leads a national team of 80 sales professionals as part of the US Wealth business. In this role, he is responsible for driving sales strategy, coaching, and performance development across the internal distribution desk.

Prior to this, Luis served as an Internal Regional Manager, where he built and developed a high-performing sales teams through hands-on, individualized coaching. He joined Nuveen in 2019 and brings nearly a decade of prior experience as a Financial Advisor, helping families navigate and achieve their financial goals.

Luis holds a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Clemson University — a background that reflects his belief in the value of diverse thinking and unconventional paths into finance. He earned his Certified Financial Planner marks through Southern Methodist University and completed the Certified Investment Management Analyst Program at the University of Chicago. He also holds the Certificate in ESG Investing from the CFA Institute. Luis is a graduate of the Executive IQ leadership program, offered through the Money Management Institute and the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
