Matt Schaefer is AIR Asset Management's Chief Operating & Financial Officer. He is responsible for the firm's financial and operational functions while also playing a vital role in the firm's strategic initiatives. Mr. Schaefer oversees corporate and fund accounting activities, treasury and cash management, financial planning and reporting, and the firm’s operational and technological infrastructure design. Mr. Schaefer is a member of the Executive Committee, chair of the Valuation Committee, and an active observer on the Investment Committee. He has over 20 years of experience leading both small and larger corporate organizations to improve performance and rapid growth as a direct hire and consultant. Before joining AIR Asset Management, Mr. Schaefer was the Chief Operating Officer of ParqEx, a real estate and parking services technology start-up. He began his career as a mechanical engineer in the aerospace industry before making the transition to business. Mr. Schaefer earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, and a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
