Matt Schaefer is the Chief Operating and Financial Officer of AIR Asset Management. He oversees the firm’s financial operations and contributes to its strategic direction. He leads corporate and fund accounting, treasury and cash management, financial planning and reporting, as well as the design of the firm’s operational and technological infrastructure. Mr. Schaefer is a member of the Executive Committee, Investment Committee, and Valuation Committee.

Mr. Schaefer has over 20 years of experience leading both small and larger corporate organizations to improve performance and rapid growth as a direct hire and consultant. Before joining AIR Asset Management, Mr. Schaefer was the Chief Operating Officer of ParqEx, a real estate and parking services technology start-up. He began his career as a mechanical engineer in the aerospace industry before making the transition to business.

Mr. Schaefer earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, and a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
